Minister says Russian economy may grow 3-3.5% soon

DAVOS, Jan 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s economy will grow 3-3.5% in “a couple of years,” Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.

“The Russian economy is already rising. Considering the demographic challenges we have encountered, the growth is to reach 3-3.5%. I hope it will happen in a couple of years,” he said.

“The government’s efforts have made the economy less dependent on oil price volatility in the past years. Now Russia’s macroeconomic and budget policy is a role model for many states and the country’s role in the global economy increases.”
